Can’t believe it’s March already. Where is the time going?
I know it’s been a while but I’m here again to share my hubby’s fave pick-me-up for when hunger attacks. It is filled with healthy fats, complex carbs for a slow release of energy and protein. No added sugar here 😉
Why oats? Because they are incredibly nutritious and a great source of important vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants.
Now, this is the basic recipe but you can add/change any ingredients accordingly to your preferences or dietary requirements. For a gluten free version try my Pecan Energy Balls here. Add-ons include: protein powder of choice, rice malt syrup, coconut oil, desiccated coconut, maca powder and the list goes on and on.
This recipe is so simple that I thought I better show you. Combine all the ingredients shown in the picture until a wet dough forms. Roll into balls and set in the fridge. I double, triple even, this recipe for my hubby to take for work.
